State Legislature

 

There are currently three bills in the State Legislature pertaining to pesticides.  Please see the following list of Alaska industries, organizations and professionals who support Pesticide Right To Know policies and laws.

Senate Bill 233 would prohibit aerial applications of pesticides except for public health emergencies.

Senate Bill 27 would require improved notification of commercial pesticide applications, establish a statewide pesticide use tracking system, establish a citizen's advisory committee on pesticide use, and require chemical companies to pay state registration fees for products they want to market in the state. Alaska in the only state in the nation to not charge a manufacturer fee. Please see the following for more details.
