Lynn P. Freedman,  JD, MPH, discusses  current work to transform the field of public health and how community leadership is vital to preventing health harm. Alaska Native people and other Indigenous peoples face health disparities that can only be remedied if we think about public health and conduct public health work in a more holistic way. Lynn P. Freedman is a professor of Population and Family Health at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health with a focus on maternal health and expertise in global health, human rights and reproductive health.
