National Experts Address Alaskans—on BREAST CANCER PREVENTION

The environmental causes of breast cancer and what you can do to protect yourself and the women you love.

 

WHAT: A free public lecture series BREAST CANCER PREVENTION: From the Personal to the Political (Science, Tips, and Action) June 4 in Anchorage and June 5 in Bethel, Fairbanks, and Homer, 2014. The lecture series focuses on the science linking toxic chemicals and breast cancer, environmental risk factors and the precautionary principle, and prioritizing prevention through individual and collective action.

 

Sponsored by Alaska Community Action on Toxics (ACAT) and the Alaska Run for Women, these events feature national experts Karuna Jaggar of Breast Cancer Action, Janet Ackerman of Silent Spring Institute, Connie Engel of the Breast Cancer Fund, and Pamela Miller of Alaska Community Action on Toxics.
